Mexico officials have dismissed yesterday the entire police force in the city of Veracruz, to eliminate corruption and enhance security to deal the drug cartels.
AP quoted Ms. Gina Dominguez, a police spokesman, said that 800 police and 300 administrative staff in the city of Veracruz has been fired. The decision has the consent of the mayor of Veracruz, Javier Duarte and Interior Minister Alejandro Poire. In a press conference, Ms. Dominguez said they can still apply for a job in the police state, but must meet the employment standards more rigorous.

According to Ms. Dominguez, Mexico Navy activities will last until the Veracruz state can train more police officers. Mayor Duarte had disbanded the police force in the capital of Xalapa, the state of Veracruz, but in that case, the federal agents was immediately dispatched to take over the job.
President Felipe Calderon has a process to promote an ambitious testing all 460,000 police officers in Mexico. His administration has allocated USD 331 million for 200 cities to train and re-equipped police force of the city.
Veracruz is a popular route for drug smuggling gangs and immigrants from the south. This area was gang-controlled Gulf first, and then by the Zetas over ice.
