2011 is regarded as a turbulent year of the U.S. car market, where the Big Three U.S. carmakers and the joy with sales soaring by contrast the Japanese car company with sales pity serious decline .

Start with the Big Three American groups. In 2011, General Motors (GM) grew 13.7% to 2,503,820 vehicles, including Chevrolet brand leader with 1,775,812 units (up 13.4%), followed by the GMC with 397,986 units (up 18.8%), Buick reached 177,633 units (up 14.3%) and Cadillac with 152,389 units (up 3.7%).

In contrast to the success of the Big Three and Hyundai-Kia, the Japanese carmakers acknowledge the decline in sales. Toyota pioneered a 7% decrease over the same period in 2010, reaching 1,644,661 vehicles. Specifically, Toyota sold 1,396,837 vehicles (down 6%), Lexus down 13.4% to 198,552 vehicles, while Scion reached 49,271 vehicles, up 7.9%.
Sales of Ford in 2011 reached 1,147,285 vehicles, down 7.1% in 2010. Honda brand sold 1,023,986 vehicles, down 6.9%, Acura sales fell 8% to 123,299 vehicles.
In 2011, the brand Nissan's sales record with 944,073 vehicles, up 17.3% over 2010. However, sales of the Infiniti brand fell 4.8% to 98,461 vehicles.
Some other Japanese carmakers such as Subaru sold 266,989 vehicles (up 1.2%), Mazda sold 250,426 vehicles (9.1%) and Mitsubishi reached 78,020 units (up 41.4%).
