A strong earthquake happened in Papua province, eastern Indonesia today, causing people to panic, but there is no notification on the status of damage or casualties.
According to the Meteorology, Climate and Geophysical Indonesia, earthquake of Richter magnitude 6.2 and occurred at 8h42 am (local time). The agency said the quake's epicenter Oksibil mountain town located 34km and 57km depth.
This shock caused panic to residents in Oksibil, just south of the provincial capital Jayapura Papua."All we are running out. This is the strongest earthquake I've ever seen," said a shocked people in the area said.

Indonesia is a country located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, so often suffer the effects of seismic movements.
On 26/12/2004, a powerful earthquake caused a tsunami in the Indian Ocean and killed 230,000 people, of which half are people in Aceh province of Indonesia.
