Automobile Magazine's prestigious German Auto Bild has awarded BMW 1-Series 2012 title "Golden Steering Wheel", one of the most important awards of the automotive industry in Europe.
Dr. Norbert Reithofer, Chairman of BMW executives have received the award from Bernd Wieland - Editor in Chief of Auto Bild in an event held in Berlin (Germany).
To honor this year, BMW 1-Series 2012 surpassed 46 other rivals. Participate in the poll has about 260,000 readers of the magazine Auto Bild and Sunday newspaper Bild am Sonntag , the same panel of 42 motoring journalist.
2012 BMW 1-Series has led in both categories of readers and experts in the compact car segment.This is the 2nd German car brand won the "Golden Steering Wheel". Before it was in 2008, the honor belongs to BMW 1-Series Coupe model.
2012 BMW 1-Series is equipped with a 1.6L turbocharged petrol engine totally new. This engine will be available in the BMW 116i, with a maximum capacity of 136 horsepower, and the 118i cars with a capacity of 170 horsepower.
The diesel engines including a turbocharged 116-horsepower 2.0-liter capacity, 143 horsepower and 184 horsepower.
