United Nations officials in Somalia said, thousands of people will die because of hunger at the time of ending hunger in the Horn of Africa region.

According to BBC , the food crisis was declared in Somalia six months ago and the demand for food is expected to remain high until July or August. The heads of aid agencies of the United Nations in Somalia, Mark Bowden, said the rate of malnutrition is highest in the world.
Mr. Bowden said about 250,000 people are miserable because the Somali famine. "We expect thousands of people will die this year," Mr. Bowden said, adding that the malnutrition rates in Somalia remains extremely high.
"Children are the most severely affected. The rate of malnutrition in Somalia is the highest in the world and I think that is the highest ever. Up to 50% of children with severe malnutrition or failure Acute nutrition, "Bowden said.
According to Bowden, the malnutrition rate has started to decrease, but the crisis will continue for 6 to 7 months and the risk of death from starvation is still very high.
Somali government does not have a formal activity in the last 20 years and was devastated by the fighting between rebel forces. Although 1.3 billion dollars in aid poured into Somalia, but the hunger in this country is very serious.
Last year, thousands of Somalis have fled the countryside near the border of Ethiopia and Kenya, to search for food. The United Nations estimates a total of 1.5 million people to be evacuated because of famine. This organization is calling for more aid to supplement sheep, goats and camels, so that people can rebuild their lives.
