A passenger plane carrying Russian ice hockey team plunged into a river Wednesday, killing at least 43 people dead and two others seriously injured.
AP source lead from the Russian Emergency Ministry said the Yak-42 crashed in the weather shortly after leaving an airport near the city of Yaroslavl on the Volga and Moscow about 240km east of North.

Officials said the plane carrying ice hockey team from Lokomotiv Yaroslavl to Minsk, the capital of Belarus. This is where this team Dinamo Minsk team will meet today in the opening match of the Kontinental Hockey League season. Lokomotiv Yaroslavl is the hockey team is leading the prize of the Russian KHL and ranked third last year.
The plane carrying 45 people, including 37 passengers and eight crew personnel, of which only two people survived the accident. It is unclear the identity of the players on the Yak-42 crashed. The officials said Alexander Galimov players who survived the crash along with a crew.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has sent traffic to the site, located 15 km east of Yaroslavl. Aircraft crashes are relatively new, built in 1993 and owned by the company Yak.
Ms. Irina Pryakhova who saw the plane fall. She said: "The plane was shaking, there's obviously something wrong. It fell behind the trees. There are explosions and smoke columns. " She also says rescuers pulled the bodies of victims from the river Volga. "I saw them drag the body ashore, some still in the back seat and buckle up," said Pryakhova.

President Dmitry Medvedev has announced plans to abolish the old aircraft from the Soviet Union starting next year. The Yak-42 had the service since 1980 and has about 100 units still operating in Russia.
In June, a passenger plane crashed in the Russian city of Petrozavodsk, leaving 47 people dead. The crash of the Tu-134 was blamed on pilot error.
