A British cargo ship sunk during World War II have been found at the bottom of the Atlantic, which contains an amount of silver worth £ 155 million.

The ship named SS Gairsoppa carrying 7 million ounces of silver, worth about 155 million British pound exchange rate today. The ship is 125m long steel casing, was torpedoed when it is in transit transport of goods to the war. Exploration company Odyssey Marine Exploration ocean confirmed the identity and location of the shipwreck. It lies at a depth of 4.700m in the sea near the North Atlantic Ocean, 482km off the coast of Ireland in international waters.

By means of the remote control from the ship Odyssey Explorer, Odyssey company has tested and identified the location of the shipwreck. The company president and chief executive Mark Gordon, said the shipwreck was found in less than two months after the campaign began searching.

The company said in a statement: "The study and other official documents indicating that the ship was carrying 600,000 Table (worth in 1941) or 7 million ounces of silver, including 3 million ounces of silver bullion British government insurance, making it the largest carrier of silver ever found in the sea ".
In 2010, through the bidding process, the UK Ministry of Transport awarded the contract for the salvage company Odyssey exclusive cargo ship SS Gairsoppa. Under the agreement, Odyssey will be held 80% of the value of silver.
