Force spokesman International Security Assistance (ISAF) said the area where the helicopter victims have been frozen, but he declined to comment on the causes of accidents and casualties .
Meanwhile, Kamaluddin Shirzad - senior investigator of the Helmand police - said the technical problems that caused the accident. However, Taliban forces have voiced claims of Islamist militants is the cause of airplane crashes. Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, a Taliban spokesman said: "Our Gunmen shot down a helicopter for white foreign troops stationed in Afghanistan in the Nad Ali district. The aircraft caught fire and all the people on it were killed. "
This is not the first time the Taliban claimed responsibility for shooting down coalition helicopters operating on the territory of Afghanistan but was not always accurate. There has been cases of terrorist organizations claimed responsibility of shooting down NATO helicopter but in fact it crashed because of technical problems that the organization's statement loses credibility.
However, in late August last year, the Taliban also shot down a NATO combat helicopters in a valley located in the southwest of Kabul killed 38 people including over 20 who is a member group of marine commandos SEALs military units assigned to kill Osama Bin Laden in early May. This is the deadliest attacks against foreign troops in the 10 year war on the territory of Afghanistan.
