The death toll in Philippines storm has passed 1,000, while rescue teams are trying to rescue more than 120,000 people affected by floods on the island of Mindanao.

AFP quoted him as Benito Ramos, director of the Management Council and the National Disaster Mitigation Philippines today said the death toll for Hurricane washi has surpassed 1,000. This number is expected to rise by more bodies yet to be found.
According to BBC , the coastal communities have been flooding last Saturday's devastation after tropical storm hit the island of Mindanao washi. Officials said the collective burial is being done, when the bodies of the victims are quickly decomposed. Rescuers are trying to provide food, water, medicines and body bags containing many people in remote villages, but many damaged roads are hampering their efforts.
Officials in Mindanao has been criticized for dealing with the disaster. Different areas of the country are planning details to deal with disaster if a strong storm occurred, but it seems that many officials in Mindanao are not prepared at this.

Approximately 40,000 people in Mindanao are living in evacuation centers after they lost their homes and property. China and America are two of several countries have offered to help the Philippines cope with disaster.
According to Benito Ramos, many funeral homes were overwhelmed with so many dead bodies in natural disasters. Talking to AFP from a boat off the coast of Cagayan de Oro, Mr. Ramos said: "I am here to salvage the dead began to emerge from the water."
Officials in Cagayan de Oro, said the dead were piled and not the recipient identified in many, while not enough coffins for them. Two mass graves in concrete has been built in Iligan to bury the victims.
Gwendolyn Pang, head of the Philippines Red Cross said, there are strict rules for collective burial, as the bodies were placed side by side, dead bodies were photographed and listed signs of victim identification people. "I'm sure the victim's family will come looking for them," she said Pang.
