A strong earthquake of 5.4 magnitude has occurred this morning in central Japan, leaving nine people injured and cracked one of the samurai castles, which are considered national treasures.
According to Japan Meteorological Agency, the quake occurred at 8h16 am (local time), with the epicenter located in Nagano Prefecture, the Tokyo about 180km northwest. Following a major earthquake a few smaller aftershocks.

Officials said the quake also caused minor damage to Matsumoto Castle in Nagano, cracked walls of the tower was built from the late 16th century. Broadcaster NHK reported that, among those injured a woman fell off the bed. Images on television also showed scenes of concrete and brick debris strewn across the quake area.
